80 percent were opposed to extreme tight-lacing; as corsetière B put it,
''it is injurious to both health and figure;'' corsetière A: ''it is most
injurious, and cruel.'' But 90 percent considered moderate lacing not to be
injurious, and ''in some cases, essential.''
